Custom designed high-performance home cinema for a happy Brisbane client.
Recently completed, this stunning Brisbane home theatre room encompasses everything that is home cinema. From the warm inviting colour tones and fabrics to the stunning visual impact of the massive cinemascope screen and hard-hitting reference level sound system, this room does not fail to deliver.
We started with a blank room, modified the entry wall to allow the use of a double door air-lock sound isolation system to keep the sound in, coupled with added layers of sound isolation products.
Then the system started to take form. A custom-built screen shadow wall to house the screen, speakers, subwoofer and acoustic treatments make the cinema screen pop off the wall. This home cinema room consists of a 13 speaker surround sound system, 3 front speakers, 2 surround speakers, 2 back speakers, 2 front Dolby Atmos speakers, 2 rear Dolby Atmos speakers and 2 subwoofers. A total of 3200watts of amplification powers the speakers’ system.
Many hours were spent with the client to select theatre seating colours, carpets and curtain fabrics. A special order fabric was supplied with a black backing to create a stunning visual effect when lit by downlights. The projector screen is a cinemascope 2.35:1 acoustically transparent widescreen with a bright cinema projector and anamorphic lens system.
To help keep a low noise floor in the room, we located all of the home theatre amplifiers, AV receiver, Blu-ray player and media players in an equipment rack outside of the room. The client has a full digital movie library allowing them to store and play back their HD movies at any time. This feature helps make the home cinema fun, fast and enjoyable to use.
Once completed, a full day was spent calibrating the audio system to extract the very best performance from the room. The home theatre projector was calibrated by a qualified ISF certified technician and the resulting picture was bright, punchy and colours were extremely accurate.
