This Brisbane home cinema transformation took an existing media room and elevated it into a refined, high-performance private cinema. While the space already had a somewhat functional but dated projector and sound system, the owners were ready to take things further, seeking a more refined aesthetic and a truly immersive cinematic experience that would better align with the calibre of the rest of their home.

Working within the room’s 5.2m × 4m footprint, a single-row seating layout was carefully designed to achieve correct viewing distances, accurate speaker placement and consistent acoustic performance. A visit to our showroom proved pivotal, with the clients choosing a system based on the performance and presentation of our showroom Krix cinema.
At the front of the room, a custom-designed screen frame and speaker housing structure was created, allowing the 120-inch acoustically transparent screen and stretch fabric to completely conceal the front LCR speaker array and dual subwoofers, delivering powerful yet controlled bass and a seamless front soundstage without a single speaker visible. Despite the room’s modest size, a full 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos configuration provides an enveloping, cinematic experience that feels far larger than expected.
Layered lighting was integrated throughout the room, including concealed LED accents, wall wash lights and a star-field ceiling, creating a warm atmosphere without visual distraction. Acoustic treatment was applied selectively and concealed behind stretch fabric panels to manage reflections and reverb time while preserving an open, natural sound. The entire system is calibrated in-house for clarity, impact and long-term listening comfort.
Visuals are handled by a Sony XW5000ES native 4K laser projector, while simple room control is delivered via Control4, allowing effortless operation of lighting, audio and video from a single remote.
The result is a beautifully resolved home cinema these Brisbane homeowners now prefer over going to a commercial cinema — immersive, elegant and expertly designed.
